Syl Apps Youth Centre (SAYC)
Syl Apps Youth Centre (SAYC) is a secure inpatient mental health facility located in Ontario, and is part of the larger Kinark Child and Family Services. SAYC is home to an interdisciplinary team of mental health professionals who collaborate to provide individualized treatment to youth aged 12-18 with serious mental health difficulties with a focus on evidence-based practices.
Current Projects
Currently, Dr. Craig and the Supporting Youth Development lab, alongside the research team at SAYC, are conducting a file review study focused on understanding the profiles and outcomes for youth who attended the secure treatment program. This unique partnership provides opportunities to better understand the risk factors and clinical implications of secure inpatient treatment, a currently understudied topic.
